1928  M. Adler of Atlantic City, NJ begins manufacturing pearl-headed hatpins which become popular items for florists in making floral arrangements for hats, lapels and bouquets.  Still marketing under the Atlantic, M.Adler and Miss Petit brand names M.Adler is the leading maker of branded florist supply pins in the United States.

1897  W.J.Cowee, in Berlin, NY, invents the Cowee wired wood pick to prevent delicate flower stems from breaking in transit.  Under the name w.j.Cowee, the company still manufactures the line in upstate New York and continues to market the line worldwide.
